jtb106, can you find out the logistics of us going to le-mans then please? cost of ferry, petrol, camping ect? Are you up to being the newest member, and organising the trip to le-mans for us?
In at the deep end and all that

Default I like the deep end

Guys, Happy to embrace the spirit of being the newest member and all that, and take a look at the cost of the LeMans trip - give me a couple of days. Shall I include estimated speeding fines on the way down?

I take it someone else is doing similar for Nurburgring and IOM???

jtb106, thanks for that, I'd pass on the speeding fines bit, we'll just sit behind the ferrari and lamborghini crowd and let them pick up the fines

as yet, no, I've not delegated that to anyone yet

Taken from SIDC site, these are the Scooby Sprint Championship events organised by Terry B.

April 23rd - Curborough - Sprint
May 21st - Loton Park - Hillclimb
July 1st - Goodwood - Sprint
July 29th & 30th - Wiscombe - Hillclimb
August 20th - North Weald - Sprint
Sept 24th - Prescott - Hillclimb

I know for certain I will not be around for the first event, but would love to go to Prescott again, a great place.

I also found this - http://www.donnyshow.co.uk/ it has 15mins of tracktime for 20 quid a shot. Looking at it further, I think the Tuner GP is a better event for SMACS - I mean, who wants to see the Lap Dancing World Championship anyway? (Just me then)

Prescott is near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire!! hardly local!!!!!

Loton Park is near Shrewsbury I have done it in 1.25hours!! nice venue as well

Obviously we all know where curborough is

Terry is also in talks with Harewood (Leeds) for a 7th event another good venue, best one for viewing.

lol

first time I went I used microsoft Autoroute to find it followed the detailed instructions and ended up near Milton Keynes!!!!!!!!

I would not mind but the autoroute gave the telephone number the length of the hill and the fastest time up the hill!! but had its location a good 80 miles away!!! Bloody Bill Gates

Default Nurburgring!!!

Allways fancied treating the scoob a holiday to Nurburg', supose best come to the meets at the unicorn and get to know the guys & girls who'll be chasing me round the 14 mile's and 100 corners or maybe the ones i'll be following round the track . believe its £10 for 1 lap, £51 if you pay for six plus the ton of optimax it will drink.

Default STi Spec C nurburgring

That a good link, with some scary pickies . Has anyone seen the MPEG thats around on the net of the spec C doing the fastest unmodified production car lap of the nurburgring some years back. I cant find a link to it but i do have a copy if anyone knows how or where to post it. While i was lookin though I saw info at lichfield imports sitethat the 2005 Spec C Limited recently set a laptime of 7:59mins around the circuit in standard form (Pro Driver closed road). Don't think any SMACS would getting remotely close to that though unless they have an appointment with the grim reaper

set a laptime of 7:59mins
nope, managed a 11:40 while I was there in september, but it was wet
and I was driving like a girly
Have a go with google video for uploading film, or even do a search on there, see if you can find the film
Much better than putfile, as there's no size limit to files.

August looks empty so how about Nurburgring trip then? I went when the DTM was at the GP curcuit last year so the ring was resonably quiet, but accomodation was hard to find. Unless we camp?

I will check prices etc and let you know.

Just thought, any want to go see the DTM while we are there?

I do plan to go earlier in the year also, as my the opportunity for company funded ferries is due to end soon. You can join me on that one too.

August was just a suggestion.
