Cool

Second that!! An excellent route even accounting for acts of God (son being sick in the back of the car!!) I have just finished cleaning it up and can recommend "Fabreze"!

I agree, it was great thanks to all the time and effort you guys must have put in.
Shame about the weather, but it made the last section very interesting to say the least!

Cheers

Mojo

P.S. Who was the chap that had the OZ Poralis fitted? I meant to have a chat to you, but you disappeared
Do they fit over 4-pots? Do you have a picture of your car to refresh my memory?

Thanks to MTR & son, Great route, shame about the weather.

Nice to see a few new faces, including the bloke I bought my wheels off

Glad you included the Strines road, although I usually do it the other way (and in the dry). It certainly tests the ABS in the wet!

Shame about some of the traffic, but if had been dry and sunny it would have been worse. The Holmfirth to Glossop bus only runs once a week and we got stuck behind it twice!

Thanks to Kev for trying to get us lost

Thanks to whoever bought the Scoobynet stickers

Great day, when's the next one?

Another great Northern meet ....

Thanks for sorting it Martin (& Jnr !), some great roads again, shame it rained so heavy in parts, but then it did add an interesting element to the last section, thank heavens for AWD and ABS, used 'em both to good effect today.

CW - We tried our best .... at least we were'nt alone in making wrong turns .... I wonder if one scoob drove over a cliff would we all follow ?? Still great laugh had by Pete & myself in our car ....

Where did everyone go ?? seems I was chatting to BarryK one minute in a packed bar and I turned and it was empty .... must be the pull of Sunday Lunches elsewhere me thinks .... still it threw it down all the way back down the M1 to the Midlands .... I'll be seeing wipers going back 'n' forth in my sleep tonite ..

thanks again Martin

Thankyou Martin & Jnr for organising the event. It was my first. Why do Citroen AX drivers panic when you share the same piece of road.
Good job H did'nt follow me.

Thanks Again

We really enjoyed it. We liked it at the pub. Thanks to all who put their money in the Scoobynet stickers envelope, I have had a jolly good curry and will now be resigning from this BBS.

MTR, pass our appreciation on to your dad, he knows who he is.

Great to meet some more of you in the flesh. See some of you soon at the Bradford mini do 22/10/00.

Gilly, did you get any change out of him for a sticker?

TTFN from Sue, Barry and Alexander.

A good time was had - one of the best driving routes I've been on. Sunny weather would have been nice, but then it would have brought out all the Sunday drivers - you can't win!

Nice one MTR, seeya soon!

Thanks to MTR (and junior) for sorting a great day out, and the route was top.

Its the first meet I have been on and I had a crackin time...so did my sons mate, in his Mk2 Escort in a sideways kinda way.

Trouble is now I want to get a more raunchy back box cos my Seebring thing is just too quiet after hearing some of the cars today

Hello all,
Glad you enjoyed yourselves, I have written a few words on the end of the NM4 thread, but basically it states that all of YOU make these Meets succesful, not me.

If you don't turn up, then the organiser sits there with a pile of routes sucking his/her thumb.

But it was nice to hear peoples appreciation at the pub. It makes my lads day when people are thanking MTR (Him).

I feel it is important to show appreciation, to encourage OTHER would be organisers to 'HAVE A GO'.
If they felt that their efforts would not be recognised, and taken for granted, they may not bother.

There are plenty of people perfectly able to organise a run like todays, if we can encourage them to do so.

So a BIG THANKS from my son Matthew (MTR aged 9) and myself (Martin).

Lee Mac,
The green MY96 with SUBARU on the windscreen belongs to a friend of mine from work, called Martin.

Also I must apologise if I appeared a little bit brusk when trying to set you off in groups of 10 cars.
The Police van had done a tour around us, and they did not look at all happy, and I was worried that they may have tried to shift us all of en mass, before I had issued the routes. Hence the degree of urgency on my part.

Cheers MTR

Great day had by both of us. Good to meet
fellow enthusiasts and really enjoyed
playing follow the leader, there were a few
amazed passer's-by (or being passed-by)
at the spectacle of so many scoobies.
Looking foward to the next one.

Thanks again MTR,

The only reason i dont like the rain is because i have to have the windows up (muted exhaust note, and all i can hear is knocking from my rear bushes!)

Mojo,
The OZ polaris wheels are mine, if you had looked closer you would have seen 4 pots on the front (fitted by myself last tuesday). Search the archives for OZ Polaris and Mike Tuckwood as he was the previous owner, i'm not sure if they have a special offset for subaru, or if they are commonly available.

'nother hearty pat on the back to MTR and all who turned up. Good day.

Rain made it for me. The car's more fun in the wet . Though *that* left hander could have been much fun if we hadn't been stuck behind an astra. A blessing in disguise, methinks.

So, how many others got home, tried to fit the URL sticker on the inside of the back window and came unstuck? (No pun intended).

Could have been an expensive meet tho. *Must* change that exhaust as the standard one sounds a bit, well, pony.

Cheers MTR (Senior & Junior). Great day, well organised, especially with the interest of our law enforcers...

I would be posting pictures, but I rather foolishly removed the disc from my camera before it had updated the file allocation table. *kiss 'em goodbye*. Oh bum.

Excellent!

Thanks again for organising the meet and putting on an interesting route. Pity the weather and sunday drivers put a dampener on the day. Can't wait for the next one. Cheers again. HAZ

Again thanks to MTR and family for organising a great day and probably the best route my brother & myself have ever driven. Very well planned and organised.

As this was our first meet we've attended we were bowled over initially to see so many imprezas together at the services and then to drive in such a large pack at 'pace'. At one point on the route we stopped as we took a wrong turning and were pounced on by a police disco. He was friendly enough and wanted to know what all these scoobies were doing in his quiet village and what the route was so he could 'radio ahead'!! We told him we didn't know it (this was partly true, we had just taken a wrong turn!) and if we saw any of these scoobies we'd let him know!! It was also amusing watching peoples jaws drop as the cars went by them.
There was a black 'S'reg STi at the meet that went like stink, very very impressive. Superb set of three dials including boost guage on centre of dash too, looked a very nice car.

CharlieWhiskey and Midland guys: Sorry to miss you at Keele Services, we were 30mins late due to heavy previous night out and search for that elusive Super Unleaded, bummer.

Thanks again,

Andy.

Big thanks to MTR, great route. Sorry I had to nip off and sort some stuff at home.

See some of you at the Bradford meet.

What more can I add!
Thanks again to MTR (senior and junior) for a great day out.

Great to see so many faces behind the Scoobynet contriubutors - and their cars!

Must rememeber to bring a navigator next time though, as I was new to the roads and had to rely on not losing the guy in front for fear of getting those behind me lost as well.

Also, thatnks to barry for bringing along the stickers.

Cheers
Peter

As one of the two Elises present yesterday (the silver one), I'd like to thank MTR for the meet and in welcoming us.
Certainly a challenging route, wet weather isn't the happiest place for an Elise but had fun with the oversteer. Also good to see some familiar faces from my Scooby days and the previous meets.

Thanks MTR and MINI MTR

Best fun I've had in ages(Even the Girlfriend/Co-driver enjoyed it)and we didn't get lost once.
I'll second Grahams Idea to have the next one in North Wales as there are some fantastic roads.
Anyway thanks again and see you you at the next one.

P.S. Graham the WIFES !!!!(uh when did I get married)Girlfriends name is Helen and she didn't do a bad job of keeping us going in the right direction did she.Any way at the next one you and Richard will have to try harder to keep up with us as we won't pull over and wait for you both next time.

Andy-D:

So that was you! We did speak breifly at Holme Moss (Scoobies in the mist) as you recountered your encounter with Plod.

Sorry to miss you at Keele, you couldn't have been far from us as we only left about 8:55 (And I DID warn you about nights out in the wonderful City of Nottingham! )

As for the next one being in Wales, we Midlanders had a weekend trip to North Wales a fortnight ago, absolutely brilliant!

We will be doing the same again, bigger and better, but probably not till next spring ('cos it doesn't half rain up in those hills)

Chris

MTR,

as always - thanks for a great meet. It just isn't fair that you have such great roads up there! However, i still can't understand how we always seem to finish last (even when we start first)?

The first batch of pictures can be seen at

MB :- Great piccies, look forward to seeing the rest.

CharlieWhiskey :- Shame we missed you by 5 MINS at Keele. Spoke to the girl in the Shell station and asked her if she had seen any cars like mine in the carpark and got a definite No off her, then nicked the till and she didn't notice that either...! Would have been me or my bro relaying the police story, either way we both had muchos fun.

a great route MTR - even though I am 'local'and used to live in sheffield I don't recall travelling some of those roads! - especially liked the strines road and the 'biblical' rainstorm - all it needed was a plague of locusts to follow it up ;-)

andy-d - I thought I was taking it 'easy' on new tyres ;-) - triple gauges are LAMCO set btw.

looking forward to the next one - did someone say N. Wales?
