Hi,

How many people are going to the TP meet on Thursday 26th.

Would it be ok i me and the other half come down?

Is the meet a chat and some shandies or is it a bit of a drive aswel?

Just asking because I've not been to any meets yet

Craig. You'll be very welcome to join us at the TP..

Your average-ish number is around 18 cars with 25-30 people with a few 'other halves' there too.

The Thursday meet is usually a park-up & meet, with a few shandies and some food. We are looking at making some changes whereby we'll be concentrating on the runs-out a little more, so if you're there Thursday, we'll be having a good chat to gauge opinion. BTW, you're fresh opinion will be most welcome...

We do have runs out and unfortunately you've just missed the mid-month run South over Strines moor.

As for other doo's: We have a few track days per year, we're looking to hook up with other clubs for runs too and we're also off to the NBO (Northern Big One - '500 Scoobs in a field') on the 12th June. We have ad-hoc meets or impromptu gatherings for Karting etc (I've posted a meet to see Star Wars III this Sunday) We're also attending the Wales Rally and a Swedish Rally trip is planned for Feb next year.. all of which you're most welcome to attend if that's your thing..

Come along Thursday and say Hi.. I'll be the only good looking dude in the car park, so you'll have no probs singling me out.. I'll be more than happy to introduce you to the rest of the guys and gals and run over the activities..

You'll find us a good friendly bunch with no cliques and a very informal atmosphere. Kids welcome too...

Look around SNET and there'll be several threads with photos from various trips etc.. (we're waiting for the new web site)..

Craig - do a search for West Yorkshire or WYIOC. There's plenty of threads with pics etc, and lots of irrelevant banter.... Most of which is usually my fault. Apparently.

Anyway, as Al says, please pop along on Thursday - we're a very friendly bunch - no cliques. Some of us don't even have Imprezas. Anymore.

Oh, and Al isn't 'good looking'. More 'striking'.... Or at least he was last Wednesday.

Heard these guys are a friendly bunch who welcome newbies so to speak. Rumour is they all buy you a drink on your first visit..................best getting the taxi up me thinks

 

I think you've heard wrong mate Lots of rumours about initiation ceremonies, vaseline and Al, but the free drink is bought by newbies to all the key members to encourage acceptance into our elite club.

 

My autosearch popped up with 'Initiation ceremonies' & 'Newbies'.. Cool.. Time to blow the dust off the shoe box.. Whip out the video and get out the 'WYIOC - Big Book of Double Entendre's and Phnarrs..'

 

 

And what's more, when they arrive, we all get to razz around in their car for half an hour....

 

I better bring the Fiesta Si up Harry. I could tell Steve really really wanted it when I dropped him back home the other night. The thoughts of getting his two seater went right out of the window but no matter how much he pestered I had to tell him she just wasn't for sale.

Think Steves neighbours were glad to see me drive off to be honest. For a minute I bet the curtain twitchers thought "what the hell has he bought now"....................Sure the space on his driveway will be filled again very shortly though.

If I cant make Thursday (due to work) I'll no doubt see you at the NBO and then (hopefully) blend in at next months meet. The dust might just have settled back on Alan's shoe box by then.

That was a mistake. The top's usually highly polished and I have regular training sessions with it's contents. Things like the vaseline and smelling salts need replacing, but the handcuffs and other devices with moving parts need regular servicing and testing..

I gave up trying to get exact numbers as someone inevitably has to drop out.... So I've no idea on the actual number..

Anything between 15-20+ cars.. 25+ people..

It'll be different to see one without stickers.. Because Martins and RLE's have both been fettled by Sticky.. It'll be interesting to see/hear your reaction if you've not seen one Stickered up before..
