Cool WYIOC Trackday @ Rallydrive - Final Details

PLEASE CONTACT AlanC FOR ANY FURTHER INFO AS HE IS TAKING OVER CONTROL OF THIS DAY IN MY ABSENCE

The original thread was getting a little diluted, so I've started this to finalise all the details.

Following the success of the first trackday at Rallydrive, it has been decided to make it a bi-annual event. I have provisionally booked the venue for saturday 18th September. The track is about 10 miles south of Scnuthorpe, so ideally located for all Yorkshire Scoob (& other performance car) owners, so come on guys, sign up for a great cheap trackday.
The cost will be £27 per car if we fill all the spaces (which should be no problem the way the Fenay meet is growing).
The cost per car covers the 1st driver, any additional drivers shall be charged at £5 each will be deducted from the total to be divided. (At the request of Sticky)
Spectating cars will be charged £5 each which will be deducted from the total to be divided as before.
Tuition from Howard Patterson (30yrs rallying experience) will be available again at the same price of £150, split between those having it.
As last time, the track will be ours for the whole day and apart from common basic safety sense, there are few rules. Loud exhausts are no problem

Reaction from last times
Discuss a meet time amongst yourselves but if I may suggest an early one (7am ) as there are more cars than last time. You may want to utilise the full day too as last time many had had enough by mid afternoon and were drifting off home. You may as well meet up at my work again guys. I won't be there, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Convoy Meet-up Directions

Off the M1 at J41 and head towards Wakey, turn left at the 1st roundabout then immediately 1st right. Left into the 1st car park you see.

Directions to Rallydrive :-

M62 east to J35, M18 south to J5, M180 east to J3 then right onto the A18, right onto the A159 and down to the Optimax station. Then straight down to Blyton and left onto the B1205.
Green route (not pink)

Have fun without me guys

If this goes well and everyone has a good time, it is being discussed to hold 3 of these events next year. I will base my decision from peoples reactions after this event.

Couple of amendments for you to make Dave...

Remove Sticky's mate 1 & 2 from additional drivers (I've just realised I've got no mates! Sad, innit?)

and add...

'Sticky's brother's mate in his Bronze Bullet' to the main list please.
(Don't ask, just wait and see. Guaranteed a laff if nowt else)
Our kid needs to get his own user name for this thing then he wouldn't have to keep pestering me! Are you listening, Chav?
He just sits at work all day surfing SN and Ebay. Funnily enough he works for a printing firm. Sounds familiar

Cheers

Sticky

LOL @ Andy
The WRGB is a definite (how else am I going to get Petter to autograph my car? ), not had my VIP pass from Kristy yet but did get an e-mail saying it was en route. I'll keep yours until we can get together. Might have to see you at some point anyway about a miniscule bit of sticker damage (U know already how picky I am). Perhaps go for a run out with Dave midweek & get some piccies as well?
Cheers

I'll hold you to that. Missed you tonight mate. There's a mini-meet suggested for next week at the Bridge. I can't make it and I'll be a bit busy for a few weeks (mates wedding, holiday and moving house ) but we'll deffo sort a little run out. Must try to avoid the police this time, eh Sticky

You know the feeling, you're pottering along minding your own business, and you look in the rear view mirror and see it..... E C I L O P.

Well this time I was minding my own business filling up the Scoob with fuel!!!!

They wouldn't have caught me on the road in their crappy little Astra, so they had to do it in Esso (SUL, honest)

I'd probably be up for another mid-week daytime jobby, just as long as you're not booked into the clinic earlier the same day. Give me the usual couple of days notice (enough time to polish the custard pie ) and I'll be there.

And you haven't been up driving to London & back since o'clock, and Dazza hasn't been attempting any DIY servicing

HB, I am dealing with a guy who refuses to accept a banker's draft a valid payment, insisting that the funds must be cleared into his account before he lets me have the keys. Tried explaining to him over a dodgy mobile line (He's in Germany) but because 'his Dad and his mate' both work in banks he's an authority on the subject.

Possibly Wednesday

Although as some banker's drafts have been known to be forgeries, he might have a point mate...

Obviously doesn't want to end up with egg - or even custard - on his face.

corradoboy, sorry m8, but I'm not going to be able to make it
too many costs this month, new suspension and tyres (the irony doesn't fail me either!)
+ another track day looms at curborough with the smacs, + the trip to wales at the end of september. ( I need to rob a bank )
Thanks for the invite, and hope I can make your next outing, with a much improved handling car
chris.

I am handing over organising this event to Alan C in my absence. I hope everyone has a great day and I look forward to organising and attending the next one.

There are currently 3 places available should you know anyone who may wish to attend.

No longer need tuition (now im a rally god, not!), went to a similar rally drive school recently in wales. M8 of mine has a really embarassing photo of me in an escort stuck in a bush!. (shame the escort was red instead of blonde!! )

Anyway you can take my name off the tuition list.

Mick.. as I've been kindly volunteered top take over... I will answer

If you're spectating, you can turn up on the day to spectate (£5). If you want to drive let me know ASAP as we only have one space left..

I'm about to PM back Red Man who I'm not certain is down there at the mo, so he has a space. I'm also waiting on another 'Stalpha' who has shown interest and may post here shortly.. so two of three slots have potentially gone...

As there is a good chance that other people will drop out.. people can can chance their arm in getting a last minute place....

Default MY01 WRX Wheels and Tyres- Trackday Use

If anybody going to the meet on Saturday is interested in purchasing a set of WRX 17" wheels and tyres drop me a PM.

The wheels are as supplied with the car - but gold painted and oven baked, with some kerb damage. I kept the wheels as they would be ideal as a trackday set - but they don't fit my STi - so they are no use to me. I am not wanting much money for them, just want to see them put to good use.

See you all Saturday - as this will be my first event with WYIOC be kind .

Great,

but I think you have me down twice, no. 1 and no. 22, unless somebody else is trading under my name ! I dropped you a pm about this last week - don't want anybody to miss the chance.

I look forward to putting some faces to the names I have chatted with on SN

See you guys then - might be a bit wet and slippery - just like driving up on the moors.

May have to drop out of this as i seem to have developed a major handling problem with the car, at first I thought it was just the new T1R toyos fitted, but now the suspension is banging, trying to get it booked in to get it sorted. I will let you know later in the week if I get it sorted

Al, one of our kid's mates wants to join in the fun in his *cough* Renault cliotris, if that's okay.

Are we gonna sort out some rendezvous (that means 'meeting', Al) points?

Would suggest Dave's workplace (or that road, if the car park is off limits) for the majority of WYIOC'ers, and then pehaps Ferrybridge services (A1 / M62) for any North Yorks lot (RedMan!) then hooking up with the South Yorkshire lads at the services on M18 / M180 junction.

Any ideas on times?
