I'm riding my bike from Hull to Aintree tomorrow and taking the A59 route via Harrogate, Skipton, Preston, Ormskirk etc.

Not been that route for a while - are there any speed cameras I need to be aware of????

So if any of you guys from the North West see some fool on a GSXR Telefonica waving at Scoobies tomorrow it'll be me

Not so much speed cameras as traffic cops...at least one umarked Scooby (Dark Blue Classic) and a white marked up classic plus assorted other marques...

Hope this isn't too late, i think there's one near clitheroe, there's definitely a couple of them through penwortham, and there's one near burscough. I think preston is the speed camera capital of england!

Copster Green, 2 GATSOs (40mph limit), Osbaldeston, 1 GATSO (40mph limit).

Watch out between Gisburn & Clitheroe - especially on Sawley Brow for mobile laser traps. Also on the Skipton by-pass.

Shame about the mobile cops too 'cos some stretches of the A59 are superb and you kinda lose concentration on the road when you're looking around for speed cameras!

Respect to the guy in the yellow Porsche who obviously knew the road like the back of his hand - I couldn't keep up (gave up trying at about 140mph!!!)

Apologies to the guy in the green Scoob who flashed me when I made a very rash overtaking manoeuvre - it was stupid and I don't know what came over me.
