Hi Guys
I should have been there doing the servicing for friend and fellow scoobyneter Graeme Field (GFROSTY) but unfortunatly I'll be away that weekened.
He will be driving his Mk2 Escort on the event (Car 71).
If you see him say hello and wish him luck.He needs a bit as on all 4 events he's done this year he has had to retire with car failure.
Have a look at his website

Hi Paul
The rally literally runs down the length of the New Brighton Prom (hence Promenade Stages). New Brighton is at the Wallasy end of the Wirral Penisular so just trundle down to the end of the M53.
Signposting to the car parks is pretty good, even I couldn't get lost
AIR there are two main parking areas, one half way along the prom the other at the furthest point from the start line/paddock. But as the course is only 3 or 4 miles and loops back on itself its no big deal.
Similarly spectating is an easy option, the stages are simply closed public roads & trafic islands run in a variety of configurations throughout the day. There are a couple of hairpins that prove particularly popular for a little sideways/handbraked action but as the layout changes so does the "ideal" vantage point.
It's probably one of the easiest places to get close to the action without any hiking or effort and for that reason one event I'll happily take Shirley to.
Event gets underway at 8.30 but given I have the boss in tow I'll probably arrive mid morning. As for eating there's the usual array of burger vans on the "stage" but if your wish is for more varied cusine there'll be some cafe/restaurants open in town.
The car will be easy to spot as we're still in Macmillan format or give me a call on the mobi if u like.

NB if there's a vague chance of sunshine bring some lotion, that sea breeze is v deceptive

Barry - thanks for the detailed advice and directions etc - I may well see you there - just negotiating the guy-time with er-indoors - won't be able to stay all day but should manage an appearance - will look out for the 'p1 with stickers'
