WYIOCing in a Winter Wonderland
It's been a while.
Quite a while.
So long, in fact, that the WYIOC section of SN no longer has an option to post a new thread, hence this being in 'Northern', but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Long ago, when petrol was cheaper, faces less wrinkly, and Top Gear was good, the WYIOC held, amongst many other things, an annual Winter Wonderland event. This started small, indeed the first ever one was arranged at very short notice and consisted of just three cars, but went on to become one of the biggest and best events of the WYIOC year. Some time between Christmas and the New Year we'd scrape the global warming off the motors, fill up with Optimax V-power Momentum, meet up somewhere near Otley, and have a blast up into the Dales.
Frankly, I miss these times.
And I would therefore like to propose that we once again venture out onto those narrow, twisty roads.
Let's go WYIOCing in a Winter Wonderland!
Sunday 28th December
Meeting points and times TBA
The rules...
Simple and straight forward...
All welcome. No matter what's happened in the past, let's go at this with a clean sheet. No bitching, sniping, back stabbing or any of the other crap that eventually led to the demise of the club. If you think you may have a problem with this, please don't attend.
All vehicles welcome. From a Caterham to a GT-R, people carrier to motorbike, most of us have moved on from the Scoobs, so don't let your current ride put you off. Anything goes, and you won't get left behind. (Much )
Never been to a WYIOC meet? No worries, make this your first.
For all those sensible enough to see this for what it is, an open invitation to go drive our cars and have a laugh, please show your interest below. Who know's, it may lead onto other things.
And if you know about anyone who perhaps hasn't seen this yet that may want to attend, let them know.

This is looking like a nice healthy turnout.
Main meeting place is the A65 just outside Burley-in-Wharfedale.
For those who have been on Dales runs with us before it's the usual place.
For those not sure, there are two roundabouts on the A65 near Burley. One is where it meets the A660 from Otley, the next is around half a mile further on towards Ilkley. Just after this second roundabout there is a large, wide are on the right, kinda looks like a lay-by, but not quite. You'll know when you see it (Map and images below)
Be there ready to depart for 9am with a full tank (Route back to the starting point is approx 140 miles)
There will be a few stops along the way, and I'm waiting to hear back from somewhere with a view to supplying us all with tea / coffee and bacon sarnies at lunch time, so take a bit of spending money if you want a snack.
I'll sort a run-in from the Wakey area if anyone's interested, just let me know.
Meeting point. Large area just off to the right on A65
