Before I get shot at dawn or anything else.... Im going to try and explain how I try to moderate the forum.

I am the only moderator in NYSOC as Alan C is in the WYIOC forum.

I read as many posts as I can, but also rely on you guys to help out too.

There are the SNET ways of dealing with posts .. infractions and the post rating system, and you can still use these in NYSOC.

I have locked threads in the past that have threatened to get out of hand.

This is how it works.....

Obviously obscene or obviously offensive posts are removed or if possible edited.

NOW.... sometimes there is 'friendly' banter on the forum as we have all met and do wind each other up sometimes... This is how I handle this....

Anybody who sees a post aimed directly at them or another member that they feel is offensive or abusive should point me in the direction of that post and the reasons they feel that they are unhappy with it.

I will look at the post and also to see if any of the SNET facilities have been used (infractions/post rating)

If I receive 3 or more complaints by PM about the post and one of these needs to be the person it's aimed at ... just mentioning it in passing is not enough ............ as sometimes I have to justify what I have done then I will look at deleting the post or editing the post or even using the SNET facilities open to everyone.

I feel this is the only fair way... If people feel that this is not fair then say ! And if you have a problem please contact me... It's no good contacting other members so I get it third hand because I cant work with it

Its almost like every other post of this nature I have read - it makes sense, and as always I cant believe that people dont understand why there post is deleted or whatever!

If you ever need another mod, let me know - I've done it a few times
