There is no such thing as a dangerous dog!
Blame the dog is easy, it's 100%the owner!
There was 3 dog attacks the area I live last year, 2 jack Russell's and a collie, dangerous dogs???
It's very unfortunate.
There have been 17 dog related fatalities since 2005.
Last year alone 25 innocent people were killed in uk police speeding pursuits.
20 people died last year in the uk falling out of bed.
Kind of puts things into prespective.
What happened to that poor girl is terrible though.

I have been bitten twice; once as a three year old, another time breaking up a dog fight. My face was badly shredded the first time, my hand bled the second but that's it. The dogs involved didn't have the enormous power and licking jaws of a pit bull type hound. That's why they kill people.

We have the most placid, calm lab ever but I'd still not leave her alone with the kids. You just never know.

Defending these people is retarded.

I'm sure had the said dogs been of a breed classed as dangerous and banned, the attacks would have been more severe resulting in more serious injuries. Sure it is the owners responsibility to maintain control of their dogs, but the fact is that some breeds have temperaments that are more susceptible for aggression.

Your guessing is correct Columbo.
I have 5 "pleb" dogs
I also have 3 children.
If I ever saw any kind of aggression no matter how trivial then the dog in question would be destroyed.
However, I am a mature owner who has 5 dogs that have a loving home.
My dogs are a big part of all our lives, we have days out with the dogs at the beach ect. And the children are always involved.
Ps I have...
2 Rottweilers
1 American bulldog
1 Irish staff
1 bull mastiff.
Pleb enough for you?
Also have a cat that has caused injury to 2 of my kids! Dangerous cat act!

There are many more dog attacks occurring in the UK than there are animals being exterminated. The reason is simple: most dog attacks are made by legal family pets. Whilst the Dangerous Dog Act has created a lot of controversy, animal welfare charities agree on one thing, any dog can be dangerous.

Sad story.

I have 2 GSD or Alsatians, depending which you prefer, both are trained "security dogs" and have an extremely high level of obedience, they are not allowed in the main house and certainly not upstairs (I'd spend most of my life cleaning if that happened). Having said that both are also "family dogs" and spend a lot of time playing with my lads (9 years old and 16 months) however I would never leave them alone with them unsupervised. Certain breeds have the power to inflict enormous damage and who knows what goes on in their head. Personally I find "small yappy dogs" to be the most aggressive and rarely does the owner take time to train them properly thus increasing their yappy-ness and annoyance factor.

A very tragic story for both the loss of the child and dog - should've put the dog owner down as well IMHO.

Oh yeah every Sunday for the past 7 years I help out at a local OAP day centre(non paid) didn't see that one did you!

You are almost correct, its common sense!
Some dogs are not more dangerous than others, any breed can snap at any time!
But Yes size is an issue,a Rottweiler or German Shepard would cause more injuries than a jack Russell or chiwawa.

Yes agree with that. A lorry is not automatically more dangerous than a car just because it can cause more damage in a collision. So much boils down to training and development of the mental temperament - same can be said for drivers I guess

Lol yes, my daughters hand bled with a scratch and my sons cheek got a swipe too , he was stood against the stairs in hallway, the cat was on the stairs and swiped him through the banisters fr no reason, I saw it, he sh&te himself lol, was quite funny at the time though
