A friend of mine took out a phone contract with a company (won't say who yet). Less than two weeks after they took the contract out, the deal was lowered by £8 a month. When they intially contacted said company, they said nothing could/would be done. I have read some conflicting stories regarding consumer rights on this matter.
Does my friend have a case for a refund of the difference?

It depends, did he accept the deal online or in store? If online, then you have 14 days cooling off period in which case he could cancel. If he signed up in store then theres not much he can do about it other than find some other reason to cancel, such as mis-sold contract, phone signal doesn't work at his house/work, etc.
No he is stuck
Contracts are contracts and as signed in store no way round it
Fact of life things come down in Price but do you wait and wait on prices dropping
And would he be happy of te Proce went up instead of down

Sadly with phones the small print says they can increase / decrease the price anytime as long as its reasonable.
Fooking joke!
When i first joined O2 i was told id get £100 cash back... 9 months of continuously chasing i managed to get £80 out of the shunts.
