I notice you need next to no wind for a while for the waves to work.!?!?

Havnt windsurfed since broke toes back in June, and I've decided it just isn't worth it here unless it's blowing a 6 and I hump all gear to Tidemills ,Seaford/newhaven..

This kicks up some waves,

Otherwise it's all chop,can't be arsed anymore

My folks used to have a cottage overlooking Constantine Bay. In the summer holidays I was often woken by the sound of surf crashing on the rocks. Many times I paddled out at 4am to enjoy some empty waves until about 5.30-6 when the locals would show up before work.

Constantine, Boobies and Treyarnon were all in easy walking distance, Harlyn needed the bike. And Constantine was definitely a reef break if you strayed too far left towards Treyarnon, and that was a serious challenge for the brave (or daft) few.

I've surfed all over the world since but now I'm a bit too old for the heavy stuff, and a boogie board and fins are starting to look like attractive options!

Due to commitments, I haven't been in the sea for ages, but had a go at the flowrider at Retallick recently. Not that much like surfing, but a good laugh. I keep seeing the surf updates on Facebook and the last few days have looked really good.

The FlowRider is great fun. My g/f was assisant manager down there until recently and competed in this years Euro Qualifiers. Kinda busted her nose open after a collision though haha.

I think the girl that taught us was called Shona, it was about a fortnight ago for a stag do. Although it was fun, it was very different to the sea. I've been bodyboarding since I was 7 and my mates that went are all good surfers and skaters. In the whole session, I pulled one spin and that was about it. The other guys didn't manage anything, although a few shove its and kick flips were attempted. Then Shona goes on and absolutely ripped, while we had a beer afterwards. The way she rode it made it look like a proper wave.

Our bedroom view is of the Atlantic (Polzeath) get to see the sun set in the sea. It's a two minute walk to the water; since we moved here last October, I've surfed a silly amount which is nice.

Ahh, Shona, she was judging the Euros'. You can see her at 4:20s.

My gf was judging and competing, 6:20s.

It's definitely nothing like surfing or bodyboarding. It's more like snowboarding if anything. Great fun though!

Anyone surfed in Tenerife? I stayed there for 3 months and surfed every day, even in a storm that I'd have probably died in if I'd gone out in it the first weeks lol

The volcanic rock is pretty savage though, plus my feet were permanently loaded with sea urchin spikes.

not surfed, but windsurfed and kitesurfed El Medano in Tenerife many many times

love the Canaries -- stay away from the resorts and it is such a great venue

Currently plotting a nice villa in Lanzarote for Christmas week. Had great waves there last time we went!

And TBH, we can't be bothered with family faffing here!

Work took me to Oahu some years back, there for a month and got to try out some of the famous spots like Sunset and Pipeline. A lot of localism but I was with home boys so no problems. Both breaks were too crowded to enjoy properly but most out back were posers not surfers, with only a few catching waves.
Tried Waimea on a 'small day', still 8ft off the back and fast. The worst part there was timing your ride back in and avoiding the shore break, which could pick you up and slam you down onto the beach. Once in a lifetime trip, sadly never repeated.

I've surfed Oz, NZ and most of Europe but Hawaii would be great.

Mind you, it can get quite good around here - all local shots...

Wow tubes, Cornwall with a rare offshore! Look great, whereabouts? Is that Trevose behind the top picture? Might head down when the winter waves appear, inspired now

Top and middle pic are both Porthtowan, bottom pic is Polzeath.
Not many really hollow/barrelly breaks around here but there are some to be had. In that top one, I was the only one surfing that side of the beach.

Winter here is great!
