All joking aside the defacing of these memorials is disgutsing no matter who has done it. I hope they get properly cleaned up and it is prevented from happening again. It's too much to hope they catch the perpetrators sadly

You're right, I suppose it would be easier to stick my head in the sand...
it's a matter of choice really. You choose to fall into the trap of giving the extremists (on all sides) the reaction they crave or even inadvertently become their mouthpiece.
I choose not to.
