Default True Hero

In a world of news filled with doom and gloom this is such a heartwarming story.

http://news.sky.com/story/1043597/do...rom-icy-waters

Regardless of how the baby ended up in the water, or even why the mother didn't instinctively jump in after it, this guy without a second thought threw himself into icy waters and rescued this little child.

And to watch the interview, he's such a modest man!!

Well done

For allowing the wind to blow the buggy in the harbour ?

What next suing our creator......, oh hold on he/she doesn't exist.

Not your best post Alcazar

We don't know the circumstances here, she may have stopped to blow her nose and a gust of wind could have blown the pushchair into the water.

And the mother - what is she guilty of exactly? Freezing due to sheer terror?

The mother and child are extremely lucky and I just hope they show this guy the gratitude he deserves.

Just seen this on the lunch time news and it was very warming but quite emotional to watch actually.

Don't see how they can prosecute the mother TBH.

But given that it was obviously windy at the time common sense should have told the mother to keep hold of the pram/buggy all the time incase the wind took it, which it did.

So, incompetent yes I would say.

The guy is a top bloke ,
But blowing your nose , scratching your arris , or whatever the weather you don't let a buggy just blow away
Like the woman who left her baby on the car roof and then drove off
Some folk are just plain dumb

The mother certainly must be a bit brainless to push the buggy along the top of that quay in gale force winds. No protection in such an exposed position!

What a legend for saving the kid (as I think most of us would of done)

My question is WTF was she doing by the water at 8am in bad weather?

Unfortunately you do not need any common sense to have a child in this country, in the past 12 months I've seen at least 3 stories of kids falling off piers etc all over the uk, not to mention the amount of large screen tv's falling on kids every day.
The mind boggles!

Having children is a human right, but when natural selection being reduced allows for incompetent breeders to have kids that are accidents waiting to happen something must be done.
