How said.
That man was a pioneer, how many people did he introduce astronomy too with his enthusiastic excentric ways on 'The Sky At Night' ?.
Brian May will be very saddened at the news.
Another unique Brit gone (:

One of the greats and always in the news for the right reasons. Hope he takes a side trip to Mars.

What a great shame. I had the greatest respect for him and I shall miss him on the TV a great deal.

Sad news, but can't say I'm suprised, he looked and sounded dreadful in the last 2 episodes of Sky at Night.

Very sad news. I got into astronomy when I was 8 because of him.
The rest of the Sky at Night team are besides themselves, really feel for them.

At least he left a great legacy behind him,not only did his books help the Space Race, but he made astronomy interesting and got a whole generation interested in the bigger picture of the universe not just our small planet.
