Cool List your favourite Christmas films

What films do you enjoy watching, or seeing on TV around Christmas time? They don't necessarily have to be Christmas related, but one of those "typical" films that you could imagine being shown around Christmas.

Elf
Mary Poppins
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

...are the ones that stand out to me

Do you know, I can still remember my Dad sitting me and my sister down to watch that when it was first aired on TV Just checked and it was 1982 on channel 4, I would have been a month away from my 6th birthday. It's amazing to think that something like that was a sit down and watch family event back then. It's nice to have actually had those experiences back then, bit like the Thriller video coming out, can still remember sitting down to watch that.

As for the christmas film, National Lampoon's christmas vacation! I'd watch it every day in December if it was on! Also, quite fond of the original Gremlins movie around christmas.

Edited to add..

I'll happily have Home Alone on in the background too.

One in recent years I think will be a future classic is Elf. First time I saw it I was a little underwhelmed. It does seem to get better the more you see it though and when my son watched it and was wetting himself at the 'angry elf' midget bit, it took on new life for me. He loves the film so I'll happily watch it now.

I'm a bit funny with films though, some I can literally watch over and over. Not on dvd but when they're on TV I'll have to watch, my mrs is like.. "how many times have you seen this!" Predator, Tremors, Gremlins, any National Lampoon... I'd take them on loop lol.
