Disputing a Spanish speeding ticket
Recently on hols in Spain, we were allegedly clocked at 115.8 km/h in a 100 zone on 14 October, on the C31 near Parafrugel.
We will want to go back to the same area, and hire a car again, so don't want to run the risk of being stopped and the old "offence" rearing its ugly head so non-payment isn't really an option. But the ticket clearly states the date, location and speed camera number and we were miles away near the french border on the date specified. We were on that road the day before (13th), so it looks like the ticket is wrong, unless it's a date of issue rather than date of the offence.
Does anyone have any experience of fighting a Spanish speeding fine or know whether the date would be the date of the alleged offence or issue date. Is it worth disputing (bearing in mind we don't speak the lingo) or is it better just to pay the fine when it comes through (not received it yet, just a copy of the infarction and been notified by the car hire company that they've passed our details over to the Girona traffic dept.)
Any advice appreciated.

Question is. Can you prove you were somewhere else at the time? If so you may have a chance.
How much is the fine?
I was nicked in Spain doing 160kpm in a 110kph and all I got was a €50. I honestly though he was pulling me for having head phones in as that's a big no no....
