Default Anyone know what this is? It came by email..

http://test1.brhuynhquang.org/wp-content/yepyepop.php

The above was all I received. It purported to have been sent by my son at Loughborough Uni, it had his e-mail address on the header, and others it was also going to included my wife, and several of his mates.

However, he didn't send it and it looks like marketing.

What ought we to do, besides running a programme to check for virus on the 'puter?

Or should we not worry?

Some person/bot hacked his email, and sent a link to a malicious script that runs in your browser to his contacts.

He should change his email password.

I think , as you say your son is at UNI
It will be a hack program just picking up random addresses for college / UNI students as they know they are vulnerable & not all have wealthy parents , it's a cheap con were some kids may see light at the end of the tunnel as to easy money & out of debt & tuition fees
Don't reply , & don't worry about it

Regards

Oh, it's fake, OK. It reckons to be about someone from my hometown, Scunthorpe, making loads of dosh. Patricia Feeney.

But it goes on to describe her as "Patty", and all money amounts are in $$.

Thanks for responses, it's what I thought, but not as bad as I thought, then.
