haha. thats cool. i used to fix the C130J (fat albert) that they are taking the pics from. surprised the typhoon could get that close without the prop wash from the herc effecting it

 

If it is sitting where it is,ie behind the hatch into the loading bay, the propwash will go past it and above it when you consider where the engines are mounted on the Herc's wings.

Just look at the angle of attack that the pilot is maintaining to fly that slowly !!

Yes lucky he can see over the nose!

It is surprising how well a delta wing machine will fly at the higher angles of attack though. Must have felt a bit "wishy washy" compared with normal though.

I bet it wouldn't have taken much more than a mere twitch of the throttle to have that typhoon actually parked inside the Herc though

PS; I though Fat Albert was just the name of the of the USMC's air display C130, is this not so?

Yes I would be quite happy to do it as long as the Herc captain was steady enough. It would take a bit of intense work though.

Great shots - no need for the normal refuelling methodology there - just lean out a bit, unscrew the petrol tank cap of the Typhoon and pour a few gallons of Sainsbury's finest in there. Job done!
