Me too. It is no longer a sport, there is obviously no competition involved. What is the point of racing?

Does anyone believe Michael Schumacher is really as remorseful as he is making out?

Bit unfair to blame Schu. Both blokes are paid millions of pounds to do what Ferrari tell them, everyone knows who really won the race, what really seems to have suffered is the public image of Ferrari and F1, but as Herman the German said, they'd look pretty silly if at the end of the season they'd lost the championship by the number of points gained today.

Dave

PS Notice the misguided comments on Sato receiving heart massage, just the reason they have chaps holding blankets to stop people seeing what's going on.

It stinks - and a major sporting blunder. Ultimately, isn't the point of it all to enhance the image of Ferrari?

No credit to Rubens for being so tame, no credit to Micahel for taking the win, and absolute shame on the team.

Disgraceful behaviour from Ferrari

I do think schuey could have got away with not passing rubens, but I don't think rubens would have got away with not slowing down (No way Ferrari would would sack schuey, but they could rubens). Either way it was obvious it's not what either driver wanted.

Schu was as much to blame as the ferrari team.
Rubens had no choice, he had to slow down. Schuey need not have passed him though, or gone all out towards the end to catch him up.
He only started acting all contrite when he heard the boo's.

Any other team would be charged with bringing the sport into disrupte, but since it's Ferrari nothing will happen.

F1 as a sport died today.....

If not bikes then Touring Cars are brill. No team orders as such, winners handicapped etc all makes for a brill race,
F1 - no chance.

I think Rubinho would still do best to stay at Ferrari. Face it -- the second Ferrari is going to come second on most occasions, and first on the odd occasion. The best Rubens could hope for with another team is third, and I don't think he's got the same level of skill as Montoya, for example.

Still, disgraceful 'racing' today

Closer racing in the WRC even if it is against the clock.

Some sort of winners ballast is required in F1 as in BTCC or perhaps a cap on budgets.

According to Ross they weren't even racing just holding station the entire race. So what are we watching it for a Ferrari parade?

FIA need to get a grip of the entire team orders thing.

What happened today is not new in F1 thats why i stopped watching it some time ago.

Have to agree with everyone about WSB as the racing is normally close with loads of overtaking, (with the exception of Troy Bayliss in the first 5 races). In fact most bike racing is better. F1 is all too often won on pitstops.

I agree that all teams should work within the same budget, and also scrap pitstops, spare cars, qualifying tyres etc.

I wonder how anyone that had a bet on Barrichello winning feel at the moment, although i doubt if there were many. Should they write to Ferrari and ask for their money?

Now we are all pi**ed off with F1 i can assume that the SIDC National Day will have a good turn out as nobody will want to watch the British GP.

Plus the fact I hate Germans and red cars!

Just off to cancel my ticket to Hamburg and respray my car!!!

F1 is pants

I didn't even watch today and by the sounds of it I'm glad! I can't understand why Ferrari did it, they're so far in front in terms of speed that no one will catch them and with schu's lead so far I can't see four points making much of a difference

I think they should ditch the wings and go back to slicks, let the guys race and maybe overtake!

In the mean time check out WSB, that's where the fun's at

Team orders have existed in all forms of motorsport since motorsport teams have existed.

Love it or hate it you have to accept it.

I was not at all shocked when M Schumacher went through on the last lap, as I always have in the back of my mind that the race will always be handed to him if his team mate Rubens, Eddie Irvine or whoever is unfortunate enough to be saddled with him.

I am not a fan of MS but I honestly believe that he genuinely wanted Rubens to win that race. They were just playing by team orders.

Nick,

The people that watch these races do not have to accept it (As he booing made clear). They will just stop watching which means the sponsorship money will fall away.

The teams and the FIA must get to grips with this sooner rather than later or find them selves in the same position as UK football.

Division One and the FA cup have been finacial disasters for the TV companies, motorsport should rethink its position very quickly or the fans will not be watching the races.

Cool

Lee

I would like to agree with you, but since I've been interested in F1 which is about the last 25 years all I see is it getting more and more popular! Even though it's become a one horse race

Lets face it a couple of years ago Bernie tried everything possible to get Ferrari to become world champions. Now they're there I wonder how long he'll remain Ferraris No1 fan?

With respect to the rest of you I don't think other motor sports are relevant in this situation. As the richest sport around F1 has a responsibilty to provide entertainment to it's fans, who after all are the purpose for it existing, and is not doing so.

Also I appreciate that ferrari had their reasons for doing what they did, but it doesn't make it any more right.

Victoria, didn't intend to get the thread hijacked by WSB, totally agree with what you are saying but given that the f1 boys seem incapable of providing the entertainment they should i find myself searching for more interesting forms of motorsport. Given the choice on offer today WSB was to me a better option (it could have been anything from ASCAR to World rally!!).
