yep, technically they are doing nothing wrong,they are advertising a box only if your stupid enough to bid on it for a high price then thats your fault-harsh but true im affraid

The seller is doing nothing wrong, well maybe morally.

 

If only it were a broken one it would go for more than a new one from Apple.

 

Seems a fair price, the box hasn't been out long!!

"New: A brand-new, unused, unopened..."

I'm going to message him and say its been misdescribed as the box has been opened and I want an empty box still in the cellophane!

 

Sudden jump from £10 to £203, and then the last bid of £208 is listed as posting 2 days before the £203 bid

I'm gonna bid on it but i'll wait till the last few seconds of the auction, anything under £400 and it will be a bargain.

 

Never got a response but the listing has ended now.

 

Somebody doesn't understand Ebay bidding histories.

The bid would have showed as £11 once the eventual "winning" bidder put his bid in on 21st September. Nobody would have known that he had a maximum price at or in excess of £208.

Then the equally stupid runner-up bid on the box two days later at £203. Since the winner was prepared to pay at least £5 more than this, the bid would then have jumped to £208, and that's where it stayed till the auction end. The runner-up hopefully realised he had bid on just a box so didn't bid again.

But in cases like this, the buyer could easily complain to Ebay for mis-representation, on the technicality of not being "new" at least. Nobody can force you to pay for an item you have won. No feedback has been left by either side for this transaction so i would presume Ebay have simply cancelled it.

 

I remember the same 'scam' some time ago on X-Box... er... boxes, too.

 

I`ve never seen "This listing was ended by the seller because the item was sold" when I`ve ever sold anything It`s almost as if he ended it outside eBay!
