Just a little word of caution for those prospective buyers of the iPhone 5 who might be thinking of going with TMobile or Orange with the view to moving to EE (Everything Everywhere) in the future. Whilst EE are the only carrier who will be having the 4G or LTE band for any enabled LTE devices in the next few months, there are some contractual items not included in their promotions or websites.

If you move to T-Mobile or Orange now and then move to EE you wont be charged but beware you will :

1. You will have to sign a brand new contract with EE which will typically be another 2 years

2. You will be charged extra on top of your monthly charge, anything up to an extra £10

It's not an iPhone issue, sounds like the network trying to take advantage of the fact they are the only ones with 4g

4g isn't part of any contract internet package so therefore will be an extra charge.

I'm quite glad I only got my 4S 6 months ago as it'll stop the temptation of this 4G thing until next year when it's more established/up and running.

Plus I'm happy enough on 02 asopposed to Orange/T-mobile/EE

I wonder what the actual charges will end up being with respect to the faster capabilities over 3G.

I turn off 3G sometimes for that very reason.

Orange are a right dodgy bunch, service sucks and they bump up prices with extras all the time

Agree with that.
We have their home internet and they guy in the shop gave me all the spiel about how their wireless modem was one of the best out there. We are changing next month when contract is up as it is one of slowest services I have ever used. And they increased their prices one month after we joined.

The extra charges are not Apples fault, its the greedy network provider, the same charges will apply to other phone when they catch up
