Start off with

"Well it's nice to be here again. In fact the last time I was here was when I attended the "Never Going to Come Out Club - Anonymous". "And I must say it's nice to see so many faces that I recognise again"

As a bit of a scam set up the speech to include any old flames amongst the guests.

You can then ask them to give back any house keys they may still have and everyone of the female guests stands up and holds up a key.

 

Practical tip;
Make notes and use them ostentatiously, as in waving the piece of paper about. It saves you having to remember any jokes, names, thanks etc..
You can make a fuss of finding the flippin thing to start with, pulling all sorts of stuff out of your pockets first, which can get a laugh going right away.
Have comedy glasses if you don't wear them normally when reading from the notes, or at least peer over the top of them if you do.
A decent prop always covers up ineptitude..

Noo need to worry, speech went down a storm, I was the last to speak and the 'other' best man came over to say how good my speech was and that I stole the show!!

thing was after hearing what he said I thought how much better his was than mine was going to be!! lol


guests did come up to shake my hand and say how good it was. So I felt a bit better.



Guests there.. mainly family, work friends... mainly older woman..!! No other gay men or woman there!!!! 'my' groom said they hadn't got any guy male friends!

 

Well done. That sort of thing is always a worry.
