Who said anything about when we firsted started in Europe? IIRC the phrase of the moment is your only as good as our last game - seeing as we lost on away goal in the semis and Arsenal didnt even make the second group stage I think I made my point

 

But your last game you lost ( last night - remember ) how many trophies this year ?this week ? errr none !!

you got beat in europe, so no matter how far you got / get its a cup comp and if you go out in the semi's or 1st round its irrelevant

Don't forget the last team to beat Man U in Europe where the same team we gubbed (the last time we played them in Europe) and If it wasn't for the Cheating Spanish gits we would have dumped Utd out of the Champions League too !!!!

Carpet - I never said we were good when we first started out in Europe - you just assumed that. As for the last game we played - what has the league got to do with any other competition. The Champions League may well be a knockout but every team including yourselves would love to get to the semis rather than get knocked out before its even got going. The same way Id rather we finished second in the league rather than 3rd or whatever - the difference is I have no problem admitting it.

I think you would have rather finished 1st in the league not 2nd (or indeed 3rd which is more likely as things stand - The pool are unlikely to mess things up again )

Let's hope next year is as good as this year has been (and the boys get together in Japan/Korea and win the World Cup - now that would be good !)
