I went on holiday there last year for a week. Enjoyed it very much. We loved rock pooling during the day and walking up the beach to Boggle Hole. Weather was nice so chilled on the beach then went to the pub
The hill walking back up from the beach is a killer.............

Go to Whitby, buy a cheap rod set or a handline and go fishing off the pier. Take a boat ride out in this http://www.hullmodelboatgroup.co.uk/...ry/Whitby_2008
Walk up the steps to the abbey. Check Scarborough out as well and further south get to the huuuuuuuuuuuuge beach at Bridlington if the weather's good. Go for a drive to the moors and to Goathland where they filmed Heartbeat. (All if you're old of course)

The steam railway ride from Pickering is good. Ends up at the place where some stuff was filmed for heartbeat if I remember rightly. Also the station at the end of the line (same place as the heartbeat thing) is the station they used in Harry Potter when the train arrives at the Hogwarts station.
If you are in to WWII stuff then there is a place called "Eden Camp" that was a POW camp during WWII. Loads of stuff to see, if you take your time and read all the exhibits then you could easily spend a whole day there in my opinion. The exhibits are laid out in the original huts and each hut is themed. Apart from walking between the huts it's mainly under cover so might be handy on a wet day.

We're camping in Filey in June and I'm thinking of getting there on my bike as well (at least some of the way) http://www.cycle-route.com/routes/We...Route-987.html

Robin hoods bay itself has nothing to do, as people have mentioned the steam railway is worth a visit, whitby is a nice little fishing town but strange when the goth weeks on. Highly recommend the magpie cafe for fish and chips or trenchers round the corner.
Head south to scarborough and enjoy its 2 sand beaches. The 2p pushers keep the kids amused for hours. The spa complex has many functions on or theres the theatre.
Between Pickering and Malton theres Flamingo land which is a theme park and zoo, a little further down the road theres eden camp which is a military museum. Theres also go ape in Dalby forest or head to Middlesborough and have a go on the go karts. These are ace, I believe its the biggest track in the uk with twin engined 65mph karts.
