"H'Angus the Monkey has been elected mayor of Hartlepool in a victory for the mascot of the town's football team. "
"But Labour chairman Charles Clarke said the monkey mascot's success was "a serious issue". The government might have to think again about the system of directly-elected mayors, he said."
I am the only one that finds these comments condescending? They don't win so out comes the dummy, the teddy and he's off home with his ball.
Erm, the electorate decided to vote for him, so quit winging and live it.

"Serious Issue" !
It would have been a serious issue if they'd have voted for the Conservative candidate
If thats who the people voted for then thats the way it is. Thats what voting is all about. Funny though
