Washing windows? Easy, says Alcazar....
I've got completely fed up with the method of buying a window-cleaning spray, applying, polishing, then polishing, polishing, polioshing...you get the drift?
Finally bought myself a 10" squeegee and mop off ebay, £10.98 delivered.
Caught my window cleaner today and asked him what he put in the wash-water and how to use the squeegee best?
He uses warm water and a squirt of ordinary cheap washing up liquid.
He mops the window in a scrubbing pattern, then advises me, (since I am no expert), to start at top right, (or lweft), settle the squeegee right into the groove and move steadily ACROSS the window to the other side.
repeat, over lapping slightly until you reach the bottom.
Mop up the dirty water and poish the edge with paper towel.
Job done: I've just done TWO big windows, the hall/front door, which is almost as big, and the French doors into the conservatory. Inside, of course, he gets to do the outside
All I can say is: I wish I'd known this before.
I'm off to try it on the mirror doors in the bedroom tomorrow, they are a PITA to get clean.

Our window cleaner at work using nothing but filtered water and a brush, they come out sparkling. The reason it streaks with tap water is the crap that is added to it. No need to squeegee if you use pure water.

Out of interest which item did u get off the 'Bay?
We had one which had a trigger pump in the handle for the washing fluid, I managed to break it comprehensively last weekend, so need a new one hahaha
A recommendation is always worth its weight....
p.s The Queen of Clean, Anthea Turner, swears by the scrunched newspaper trick also
(apparently)
