This car is just amazing!

Thought it might be worth including as it's the complee anti-thesis of the Scooby, managing a whopping 318 miles per gallon! London to Edinburgh for under a fiver anyone? Have to admit it's the first VW I've ever considered owning!

Must be pricey, mind. I reckon the kit car boys could come up with something similar for a fraction of the price:

318? Pah!

Ever heard of the Shell Eco-Marathon? It's a long running competition (formerly known as the Shell Mileage Marathon) to make the most efficient car possible.

The world record?

10,227 mpg!

Cars doing thousands of mpg are common - check here and here for examples of a couple of recent entrants.

Once you limit speeds to around 15 mph and streamline the car, efficiency can skyrocket. 'Normal' cars are so hopelessly inefficient because people insist on luxuries like being able to sit upright, carry passengers, and accelerate

Andy.

Is the registration an indication of the handling? Wobbly? LOL
