Was given a cheque by a friend on the bbs as payment for an item I sold him last week. I paid it in on thursday.
On monday during coversation he mentioned that the cheque had cleared from his account.
It is now wednesday and my bank still haven't given me access to the funds yet, presumably its going to be tomorrow at the earliest[img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] So somewhere between the two banks the money has been credited to neither of us for three extra days!!! Surely its either his, or mine, why should the banks make extra interest for themselves?[img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Its **** isn't it mate. With Todays technology there is no need for and the banks know it. They just gain more interest from it that way.

The same thing happened when I paid a cheque from one of my accounts (Northern Rock) to my new Nationwide a/c.

Also, I made an IBT to someone, left my account that day, they didn't get it until 4 days later

Its just sneaky and underhand IMO.

I payed some cash into my bank the other day, and got a letter saying my signatures didn't match and could I go to the bank with my passport to confirm What's that all about ? Like I'm a criminal that goes around paying money into other peoples accounts.....lol, I really can't believe it!!
