Default New camcorder choice help please

Hi

I need to buy a new camcorder quite soon.

The one I have my eye on records onto a sd card and has no internal hard drive as far as I can see.

This might be a silly question by how do I get the recorded material from the SD card onto a DVD type disc?

Thanks

Either use a dedicated DVD recorder, and use the cables supplied (or newer ones will probably have SD slot) or use a computer with DVD writer.

Thanks. I have a bdp and tv that have ad slots. What I need is to be able to burn a disc to give to older relatives who won't have that.

So I use the DVD writer on my computer and then get a sd to USB convertor gadget (my mac doesn't have a sd slot)

Thanks

Plug the camera into your Mac and import to iMovie from there. If you have an old copy of iDVD on your drive it will make the DVD;s for you.

That's nice and simple for once!

That's why Macs are the best

The big challenge is getting your nice, new shiny HD recording onto a DVD style format.

The only way to get true HD from a camera to a TV is via the camera's HDMI output.

Happy to be proven wrong.

I think I understand what you mean. When I watch it myself it will be either via the hdmi output of the camera or by putting the sd card straight into my blu ray player. I presume both these methods will get me a true hi def image?

The dvd copy is really for the kid's grandparents who won't have a bdp, so as long as it's viewable it should be ok

Thanks
