Er... about the same size as Carpet Right, 160 stores, 2600 staff... sold for £100 million by Theo Paphitis after he turned them around.

La Senza is a big name, f1. You just have to ask women.

Shame about their hardships. Hope they continue selling on line, but its not good as seeing with bare eyes before buying. I think that the future generations will become so used to buying everything on line that you will see many people wearing clothes bigger and smaller than their real sizes. Purple will become blue, and red will become pink. People will trust whatever turns up as the result of their on-line transaction. I am happy that I could be dead by then.

Or are crossdressers pretending they don't know about it?

I haven't been in there for years. The service was always so teeth grindingly slow, I couldn't bear it. Or should that be 'bare' it!

This is all typical late cycle stuff; retailers over-geared as they locked themselves into rents that are upward only and so they can't cope when their revenues drop. i.e. they've effectively taken on too much debt (by committing themselves to these) during the Labour 'boom' times and are now suffering in the downturn. Not sure there's a lot the current government can do except keep walking the tightrope of progressive cuts?

I'm amazed. In post 13 Lee247 mentioned having loads of La Senza underwear, and four hours later not one request for photos.

I loved the scented beads you would get in the bag of a thong. Used to put them in the cars ashtray to make the car smell nice...

Beginning of the next cycle IMO.... 2012 is going to be the worst year yet by a long way. The Euro will likely collapse and things are going to get so bad in the UK that I think the coalition will be gone by this time next year and it will be election time again. 3.5 million unemployed, back into recession and government borrowing climbing out of control again.

Will make this year look like a walk in the park. Too many cuts announced too soon coupled with spiralling fuel prices have just destroyed confidence and the Euro zone crisis went critical too soon too whihc has only dampened any flicker of hope.

Happy New Year people
