Another Miliband own goal
cant stand any politician tbh
apart from the few that tend to be lower down and genuine.
the rest just talk the talk, and get wealthy in the process - come up with sh*t ideas, and impose them on us.
the fact that they only really show any concern in run up to elections says it all really.

Yep, prime minister's questions - a juvenile pantomime for the mornic politicians and the even more moronic who think it actually means anything.
Cameron and Osborne are scoring the biggest own goals at the moment by still thinking that rising petrol prices are a good thing and have no effect on the economy or how about the fact they blame the UK economy's flatlining on the Euro crisis despite the fact it started a full 12 months before the Euro crisis reach critical levels!
Still let's all keep bashing the party no longer in power or even remotely significant in UK politics right now as it makes us all feel soooo much better!

Except we are using 15% less petrol than three years ago.... not that I would expect a **** of Osborne's economic acumen to be able to work out why that means he is getting less tax revenue from it.

And we're off! Genius. In all honestly, f1, your capacity for spin supersedes anything PMQs throws up. Miliband's a spastic.

2008 11.2bn litres sold so at 53p duty/17.5% VAT would have netted 7.90bn for the treasury
2011 9.5bn litres sold so at 58p duty/20%VAT nets 7.41bn for the treasury.
Last time I looked 7.41bn was quite a bit less than 7.9bn.
Still, you know better

Not genius, just primary school maths which neither you nor Osborne probably knows how to do. Stick to your favourite subject as you are clearly out of your depth when it comes to multiplying two numbers together

But surely, this is what happens when you try and tax something out of existence, then spend the tax on other stuff.
You are left in a position of saying, on the one hand, that you want people to do less driving, smoking or alcohol, then on the other, tacitly allowing it to continue because you need the tax.
Lying Labour invented THAT.
Isn't it true that if EVERYONE stopped driving, drinking and smoking tomorrow, they'd have to raise the income tax to about 80p in the £?

Imagine, an empty M6!
There was a time I could blast up there at 3:00am and encounter zero traffic except maybe just see the odd truck or two.
Now its nothing but a long congregation of trucks 24/7 all playing dual in lanes 1 and 2.
