Yell.com / Business Advertising
It has come to the time of year again to decide whether or not to spend our hard earned with the yell group.
For the past few years we have spent anything betwenn £500 and £1700 with them, mostly with yell.com and a small amount in the Yellow Pages - I honestly don't think we have re-couped that money, although it is difficult to say as I don't think most people say where they've got our number from.
So would I be better off spending my money elsewhere ? Such as Google Adwords ?
The nice chap from yell told me that they are one of only 6 companies in the uk that can tinker with your adwords ?? (please forgive me naivety on this subject)
All opinions on the matter appreciated !

I've been in Yellow Pages for over 15 years now but think it will be my last.
Not sure how many jobs I've had from it but generally the only enquiries I get are people wanting insurance quotes.
Normally these people already have someone lined up to do the job and are only after the 3rd quotation.
It only costs me £120 per year as I'm under a trade body so get preferential rates.

It saddens me but in reality the yellow pages probably wont exist in 10 years time.
The only people who regularly use it are the elderly who havent discovered the internet. This demographic is reducing all the time.
I would only advertise if your business heavily relies on this market.
