Lightbulb 1st Day Unemployed

So - Dishwasher sorted, dog walked, carpets hoovered.

Thinking about what to do for dinner tonight.

So far - I'm thinking:

Starter:
Yellowfin Tuna - Lightly seared with a Wasabi side & shaved ginger

Main:
Ribeye Steak with Charlotte potatoes

Desert:
Profiteroles - filled with Ice cream (vanilla) with hot chocolate sauce.

Cheese and biscuits with a nice port

You're doing it wrong. It's special brew then feet up for Jeremy Kyle.
I recently got laid off but the cheeky ******* have asked me back on a months rolling contract as they are short for holiday cover in December. I reckon when December is out of the way they will not renew my contract. The joys of being temp staff..

When I'm off during the week I do like a bit of JK. Highly amusing watching the lower class fighting.

Shirley that means the role isn't redundant after all and they shouldn't have let you go...?

It's one thing that annoyed me about the Children in Need progs. They had a clip about children in poverty and interviewed what seemed to be a well adjusted lad putting up with bullying for having to wear his sister's old blouses.

Unemployed dad hadn't been able to find a job but sensibly had invested in a pay to watch huge plasma TV (they had to put a quid in the box next to it to watch) a PS3 and broadband so he could search for jobs.

The rest of the house was a sty. Quick tip if you want a job and you have nothign to do but sit on your backside all day - try tidying up a little. Have a bit of pride in yourself. Stop spunking money on broadband and get to the library for free etc etc.

Honestly, I felt for the kid but I was astounded by the feckless numpty in charge.

5t.

When I quit my job in London a few years back I thought **** it I'm going to have a year off. After a few weeks I was climbing the walls with boredom. I decorated my house, I decorated my parents house, I did anything to ease the boredom. I soon got another job.

The above menu choice will soon change to something slightly less exotic given a few months off surviving only on jobseekers allowance !!

seriously thou hope things work out okay for you in the end mate.

Cheers Guys.

I got a short term contract for an Oracle Consultancy 15 Dec 2011 - 30 Mar 2012.
Since that ended, I kinda figured that the next role would be along soon enough.
The wife and I decided to head over to Florida for a well earned extended holiday

So - Back in the UK after a few weeks R&R. I thought early June would be PRIME job hunting time.

Interviews lined up and attended:

Tescos
Clifford Chance
Freshfield Brukhaus Deringer
Universal Music Group
Pearsons
Macmillans
RBS

I either got blown out by them or said "No thanks" for a variety of reasons (See my FFS Thread amongst others)

Was starting to think I'd quite fancy quitting for good and perfecting the old swing [Golf Variety] until last week. Again - we were out in Florida and I get a phone call from a company I worked for from March 2000 - November 2011, "Would I be interested in going back?"

Looks like I may have to shelve my planned retirement for 18 months or so.

The wife's happy, she says I've ruined the sofa sitting on it so much.
The downside is that she wants me to buy a new one with my first payment coming in.

So - The question is:

Do I replace the sofa?

or the Wife???

Off topic, but depending on what browser you use you should get a dictionary plugin, it'll highlight misspelt words and I find it invaluable for posting on forums
