Local charachters
Up here we have the Ferryhill Hoplite who does his battle walk between 2 villages most mornings dressed like this.
His Gladiator outfit
There is also The bag man of Sunderland. A homeless fella who wanders about the town centre carrying bags, the bags are filled with more bags. Hes always dressed pretty smart with a shirt and tie.
Then there's Dave the Rave. The UKs number one raver
What eccentrics do you lot have in your area.

Had a dance off with Dave the Rave at a friends wedding. Or Makem Mover as he is known.
Also had this guy in Consett where I used to live.

Dave the rave and the mackem mover are diff people. Both of them do go to Sunderland games.
They featured the mackem mover on soccer AMs third eye, then they invited him back on to have a dance off with the geordie dancer.

We have Mary Christmas here in Bangor (Co. Down, not the welsh wales one) she frequents the local filling station/spar daily with her pull along shopping basket. Green waxed jacket (whatever the weather), boots and more lipstick than is natural looking, Id guess she is in her late 60's maybe older. She leaves her 2 wheeled pull along outside then proceeds to walk along the road touching every brick, kerb and mark on the pavement. Total OCD obsessed but harmless.

Nottingham had the "Xylophone Man" Remember him well. Died in 2004. We even tried to get him to play on one of our records but he sadly declined.

When I used to live in London, we always used to see the Stockwell Dwarf.
A tiny black Geezer, literally about 3 foot high. whenever I saw him he was doing one of three things. either buying a can of Spesh, drinking a can of Spesh or laying on the floor, unconscious, surrounded by empty cans of Spesh.
I don't know whether he was homeless or on benefits or gainfully employed, but he could certainly put it away, of that there is no doubt.
Astraboy.

There is a guy near me who walks around for hours on end writting down the reg numbers of cars. Spends hours and hours wandering the streets doing it. Always wondered why.... sometimes see him with an "old person trolley" thing... (dunno the techy term) and I imagine he has an AK-47 in there "just in case"....

There's two in oldham. Rambo, who is a bearded homeless man dressed in heavy boots and a green heavy outdoor green/camo coat. Commonly seen witha huge Bergen (military rucksack) rummaging in parking meters for spare change and bins. Tends to sleep on a park bench and has a page on facebook allegedly!
And bag lady, a middle aged lady who walks from asda I. Shaw to sainsburys in oldham and back and forth with shopping bags and occasionally a small dog!
