I am just about to change jobs and I want to move everything from one I phone 4 to my new one how would I do that? Both are IP4's one is on T mobile and the other is Orange.

Would I just update I tunes and os and then back up the phone as normal. Would I then plug in the new phone and select set up new phone and choose my backup.

Would my work phone then be back to if it was brand new could they read any of my old emails etc.

Backup your old phone in iTunes, this will happen automatically when you plug it in.


When you receive your new phone, connect it to iTunes and it will ask if you want to restore from a backup, choose your backup and it will be restored and will be identical to your old one.

Go into settings on your old phone and select the option to erase all content and settings.

This should wipe the phone and display the iTunes connection screen when powered on.

 

As above - backed up my 4s on fri and then connected my new one and everything came across no probs.

 

works exactly as the guys say.

Just remember to do the last backup just before you swap to the new one so you have the latest stuff, contacts, music, mail, apps and texts.

 

Thanks for the help but one problem how can I give back my work phone working as I will not be able to set it up as a new phone on my Itunes, If I have my new phone on that i tunes.

Do I need another computer ? Or should I download 0S5 and do it that way ?

Settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings, job done.

 

You can with the old one restore it to factory settings and then just unplug in. That way it will need setting up by the new person

You can have multiple phones on the same itunes btw
