Default Should SN bring back the user infraction system

Well? It was a lot more fun when we had it

Policy was that busy I'm surprised that nobody wanted to sponser it

I don't think I infracted anyone back in the day, I'm sure a Mod could tell me

But by Jesus, some of you ***** I would love to infract these days!

No, it was that system, which was abused by the admin team, which killed NSR in the first place.

Or some people could grow up, act like a grown adult, and realise it's just an internet forum.

does that mean we could force people who create new threads to argue the toss after the last one's locked to stop?

Spot on Moley.
I would love to hear the reasons if anyone votes yes!

This forum is used by some as a debate points scoring system to make themselves feel better about not having any real friends.

Everyone else uses is for what it is - A pokey motoring forum.

Wasn't the infraction system "diddled" by someone too?

Maybe we could set something up for you in fight club, Will?

But as for the rest of the forum.....NO WAY!!!

Oh, that reminds me, I had an idea about the infraction system, that I wanted to run past admin!

The user base is certainly not mature enough for this to be effective.

I'd love a rep system though.

People were getting Infracted for petty reasons, me included.

It killed off certain users that were entertaining to read.

I think the closest thing we got to one of them was a system where you could give everyone's post a thumb up or a thumb down. The more thumbs up the post got, the greener and more positive it got, the more thumbs down you got, the reder and more negati e the post got. I think that how it worked anyway!

People started getting touchy even about that!!! Ranting when someone negatively rated their post etc, which caused rows, which lead to infractions....

These kind of user ratings systems always degenerate into a bun fight!

Which is why the threads about a particular infraction were so funny.

For that reason alone I think they should return. Don't think I ever got one and think I only gave a couple of times. I also think that by the infraction sign should be the username of who gave it and preferably a little statement as to why

But rather than full ban just a sin bin for a couple of hours to cool off. Or a couple of hours to seeth over the injustice of it all and come back on infuriated and potentially highly amusing for the popcorn munchers.

SNet is quiet because its just not cool to own a scoob anymore. Most of us don't own a scoob and it's just about the banter. Its bound to reduce traffic.

I wasnt using the site actively until a few years ago, and even then, I don't think there were many infractions. So much so, I don't really know what they are.

I loved the infraction system, it was a joyous time seeing all the ***** on here complaining about it, it provided many hours of entertainment. If only they could grow up ;-)

The system was abused by those who couldn't face the fact that others may have a different opinion. I bet it made some people feel important though.....

It was a very stupid idea to give power to the plebs, as my occasional "infractathons" proved!

Funniest moment for me was the glitch that allowed everyone to see their infractors! Hello moses!!

The infraction system pretty much killed the muppets forum and dealt a fair old blow to the rest of scoobynet, to which it never fully recovered from it's heyday.

Only tosspot I can remember infracting was Mr impreza. Thank **** he has p1ssed off. Ex webby was my main infracter apart from the few self righteous infractors here who thought they were anonymous until the system fcuked up
