Default Dogs and weed - question

Hypothetically, if a dog was in a household where the owners smoked a lot of drugs - weed then would it affect the dog and what sort of effects.

This is a serious question and i do not want to go into details why but what are the likely effects on the personality of the dog?

No munchies comments please and no, we do not smoke weed

To be Honest i dont think alot of research has gone in to this for obvious reasons.

I would presume that it would affect the dog as it would a human, depending on what dog it was depends on how it would affect it i would of thought. i.e a staffordshire terrier is not as bright as a border collie so may have different reactions..

I would ask a vet!

when i was younger my older sister had some ****s around. they locked my mums SH1Tzu in a tiny cupbard and blew loads of weed smoke into it. The dog ran into the wall and then slept like crazy. It lived for a good 10years after.

Question

Could if make the dog aggressive if the dog did not have a 'nice' disposition in the first place?

Unless they give the dog hash in its food or regular blow backs then it wont make any difference?

I knew of a family that had a dog and they smoked and grew their own, it was the most layed back dog id ever seen, no joke, it would hardley lift its head when you came in and that was a huge doberman!! he used to walk it regular and kept it as you would any other dog, it was well treated, it was just quite obviously to anyone that would see it, stoned.

During my brothers Uni years they had a house that was out in the sticks a bit and the farmers Border Collie used to spend more time at their house than anywhere else. Anyway we had some epic smoking sessions at that house, this dog used to just come in a crash on the floor and one time spent about half an hour staring at this psychedelic Jimi Hendrix poster that was on the wall which we all found immensely funny

Anyway the dog seemed to enjoy it and kept coming back for more Dog was a bit mental anyway, it used to chase cars and try to bite the tyres, also spent hours barking at hot air balloons until they went away

Didn't do my brother any favours mind, that year he was in said house he was actually on the dole having failed his first year, he re-sat it at the end of that year and somehow managed to scrape through into the second year which was spent in another dope haze, dropped out after failing that. All okay now mind, grew up and has a high flying IT job.

In general, it will act as a sedative on dogs. The main risk is through oral ingestion of large quantities, i.e eating it! If this happens, then the dog should be taken to a vet within the hour.

Default cats on LSD?

Back in the 60's (lost anyone yet?) there was something in asprin that badly affected cats, the local vet told me a story about being called out to a home where the cat was climbing up the wall papered wall after being given human dosage of asprin.
Tried a couple but my rock climbing did not improve, must be just a feline thing!
