Oh, no scoolboy error, I did not see the cutout on the lower section of the bell housing and the cutaway hid the fact its is one piece casting. This is in fact more likekly to be a GM Turbo Hydramatic 400, found in old Jags, Rolls Royces and anything American thats not a Ford (or Chrysler).
