Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant
I literally hate these 2 guys and I even find myself hating people who think they are funny. 2 of the lads in work harp on about how genius they are but i think they are just as twastish as Gervais and Merchant.

but they have made an absolutely brilliant programme, An Idiot Abroad which I adore until i hear either of those two spout ****e and generally act like maggots which totally ruins the programme.

Ricky Gervais is about as funny as a severe dose of the clap.

Extras is fantastic.....
Bettered only by Peep Show, IMO.
Both are great writers. RG had a hand, although uncreditted in making This Life.

If it wasn't for Gervais' laugh he wouldn't be too bad but the laugh is terrible. Merchant I have no issue with and prefer his dead-pan attitude to Gervais.
Karl Pilkington is very amusing. As he said last night, producers and broadcasters hang on every word Gervais says and will say yes to anything just because it is Gervais.
I think last nights episode shows just how contrived An Idiot Abroad really is but it doesn't detract anything for because I accept it as such - like when Top Gear do specials and try to make it look improvised.

They were only good for two things, The Office and Extras, with the Office being particularly good, with the training day being one of my favourite episodes, had me in stitches for hours.

Good advice when you think about it.

I love comedy, but I've tried and tried to see the humour in RG and simply can't find it The other guy seems to be a good writer, but quite why RG gets so much work I can't fathom

Having just watched the highlights of the Golden Globes last night, Ricky Gervais was quite funny.

I remember (hard to forget after his 'special olympics & winners joke! ) seeing RG on the 11 o'clock show back in the late nighties ...& he was the best thing on it!
The Office ...absolute genius
Early XFM podcasts ...the 'introduction' of Pilkington ...as above

I HATE Gervais. I can't see what people find funny about him?
As for Merchant, am fed up with his voice on the Barclays TV ad's. Another reason to swap banks
