I'm after a 12v DC Power supply to power an TV aerial / booster. Damn thing eats Duracells, especially when I forget to turn it off
The Philips spec says it needs a 12v DC, 100mA supply.
Now then, looking at RS Components web site, there's a big choice of regulated and unregulated supplies. Which is the better choice?
Do I need a PSU that provides 100mA exactly? RS have a regulated 12v unit which provides 250mA - any dangers with providing 250mA? Will the booster die eventually?
TIA,
Chris.

A regulated power supply has a more stable output voltage and is the better choice if it's not much more expensive.
A 250mA power supply can be used. You need 100mA, so anything with more than 100mA output is OK. If the equipment is expensive, you might consider using a 100mA fuse to protect the equipment. Put the fuse between powersupply and equipment.
