Default Immigrant rapist allowed to stay in UK

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/br...-14748392.html

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8595062.stm

So this is the fair and proper use of the UK immigration system, we are supposed to trust it and have nothing to fear - really!

"He came to this country from the Democratic Republic of Congo and was granted asylum.

"He chose to misuse his time here by committing offences, the most serious of which was rape."

But the judge added that Semo's motivations for marriage were "immaterial", concluding: "With considerable reluctance, I have to say he must be allowed to marry. That means there will be a prohibition against removing him."

Thanks NL, Thanks EU - so we will have this POS living here, likely on benefits as who will employ him - FFS what do some people have to do to get removed - This Government has let the people down yet again, the spinless self serving scum!

Beggars belief

So we now have to welcome convicted criminals. Christ, does anyone have a backbone in this Government.

I hope that's a poor taste joke, hodgy. Rapists are scum of the earth and to welcome one into our Country is a bloody disgrace

Its time for a change in the legal system. We are being let down by judges that seem to live on a different planet i'm sure half of them are senile.

Of course the case rather begs the question as to why anyone would want to marry a convicted rapist

And it's not the judge's fault - it's EC law because wifey has German status.

Get out of the EC and then we can start acting like a decent country once again.

Or get MOSSAD to sort it

if we were allowed to execute rapists then we wouldn't have this problem. That may be a little extreme but we're just a soft touch all round in the uk. I'd hate to be a copper - spend all that time and hard work catching criminals, only to see the court slap their wrists and send them back out on the streets to commit more crime and breed more criminals. Whatever happened to throwing away the key?

Pc Plonkers and the Human Rights act are bad enough individually, and an even worse mix!

You tried to duck a speeding fine recently? Try it, and see how they chase you from pillar to post, threats, increased punishment, and THEN you get at LEAST four punishments for the one offence.

It isnt the HRA thats the problem as such. Its intentions are good and there are a lot of real protections for us there: something I appreciate as New Labour Big Brother takes an ever closer interest in my wellbeing. Some of the intepretations (by the judiciary and others) seem a little fanciful though, dont they?

I dont want to see the HRA repealed (although thats not actually possible anyway), but I do want to see more sensical application.

By the way - just in case Ive come across as being too liberal: I dont want to see any more African 'asylum seekers' here either..... These people have no legal nor moral right coming here.

Nothing wrong with the protection of human rights as you say. It is the way the act is written and the ridiculous extremes that the PC Plonkers are able to take it to. It is a matter of basic attitude and the complete loss of any sign of common sense. you will find that BB will filter out all the bits it finds to be an irritation!
