Got A Job- Back On The Road At Last
After being made redundant in February and having to take a lower paid job (barman at butlins) I recieved a letter this morning, 'Iam pleased to comfirm our offer of employment'
I feel like a massive load has been lifted from me. The job is worth at least 25k a year which is what i am use to, and the company is, as it stands very solvent. I am/was under-qualified for the vacancy but i think its my experience that has got me in.
Goes to show its not all bad out there and there are companies surviving and even profiting in the 'credit crunch'.

congrats m8, I know exactly how you felt being recently redundant myself, it is tough out there currently.
It is good news that people are still employing and there is always light at the end of the tunnel :-)

Well done fella.
Jobs seem to be like buses with me. Nothing for ages then a couple opportunities come at once.
Start @ Corus on a government funded apprenticehip in Sept and also got a thing going with a DJ night too.
Will struggle like hell on the ££ to start with but nothing worse than what I'm doing now.

Yes, well done indeed! I was made redundant in April and am now getting bored of DIY, cleaning the car, mowing the lawn, pushing a hoover around, calling recruitment consultants and surfing the web...
Interviews were quite thick on the ground up until a couple of weeks ago, but since I've come back from a week's holiday everyone else seems to now have gone off on one! Very quiet right now.
Previously worked in high-value IT/Telecoms sales so I knew that purchasing decisions were taking much longer than usual "in the current economic climate", if happening at all - and the same seems to be happening for recruitment... everything is just taking a huge amount of time - especially when I've also got a "high value" six-figure price tag.
There's a few things slowly happening right now, but I'm quietly hopeful that I'll be able to sign-off the "rock and roll" in the not too distant and get back in to the real world - we'll see.
We're expecting our first child in December, so Mrs Shades will stop work towards the end of October - and I'm REALLY focused on being in full time employment by then.
Anyway - well done, and good luck to all of those that are in my boat - looking hard but getting bored of not working!

First one is next Friday (31st) July mate. Bar Matrix in Scunthorpe.
Then hopefully a couple more provisionally lined up 14th (fri) and 29th (sat) August.
Alternatively, I'm home most days sponging all others members taxes (well till September).

Great work b13bat
I found out I am being made redundant today,no warning just handed a letter as I was leaving work. 33 of us gone
Went to the local job centre a minute ago and it was like an auditon for shamelss, kids standing outside can of fosters in one hand *** in the other discussing what to spend their crisis loans on

It's happening more and more now. Maybe if it happens to some of the folk on here who were so quick to jump down my throat, it may make them realise the situation
Best of luck anyways KOT, least you have your health

Good luck finding something else..... hope something comes along quickly for you!
Audition for Shameless would be an overly flattering description for our local job centre! Wayne and Waynetta slob would get turfed out for being too classy for the joint. Can you imagine working there?!?!?
