Default Just seen a flying object that I was unable to identify

Just looking out of the window, the wife asked what a red flickering light was. At first I thought it was just the lights of a plane at high altitude but I'd say it was moving too slow. The flickering looked a bit like the flame of a hot air balloon but it was a lot higher than I'd like to be in a wicker basket.

Any ideas? Sunspots on Uranus?

That would've been cool but the Shuttle launch was postponed due to a hydrogen leak.

Basically you light them, then they float up into the sky.

On the subject of UFO's a friend on mine took this photo of Vulcan 558 over the weekend.
The general opinion is that the object in the photo is the space station although someone further north took a photo with a simliar object in it. Any thoughts?

did anyone see this when it was in the paper last year, no explanation followed. i laughed it off myself but it was only when recently i got close up to one and realised the sheer scale of these things and the forces involved to do this amount of damage that got me thinking..........THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE...UFO sightings over Lincolnshire excite UFO experts after a wind turbine on a wind farm was damaged in Conisholme | Aliens | The Sun |News|UFOs

It certainly hit something substantial alright, unless it was a fatigue break up of the blades.

Didn't the company explain that it was metal fatigue in the bolts that hold the blades on and the other blades were damaged by the broken one hitting them?

so did we, about 6 of us saw constantly-on orange lights appearing to rise vertically 1 at a time about 10secs behind each other, 5 or 6 of them, some then turned sharp left, some sharp right from their vertical position, although seemed to go very high before turning, they flickered and disappeared, not unusually fast though. we were in monkstone in pembrokeshire looking east and toward the coast. we saw them at the beginning of may. we thought maybe aircraft from RAF st athan or maybe from cardiff airport as they looked very far away.
