This is sooooo funny...
BBC NEWS | Politics | Lumley in public clash on Gurkhas
Just how bad is this government?
Purdy is making policy now.

Good for her. This lot let all and sundry in and pay them for the priviledge (sp). If anyone deserves to be here it is the Gurkhas. Are they not the Queens Guard

Actually that was an act of extreme bravery on her part. Standing up to McStalin and all that.
Note the Nu Labour civil servants/lawyers etc arranged in the background and how they behave in a generally intimating manner.
Joanna for her part is.... impervious, and throws many sideways glances at the camera - i.e. us
It's a good job

She gave a great performance and would be a good Maggie version 2. He on the other hand was a quivering spineless gimp.
I just don't get the Gurkha problem - it makes a perfect show of gratitude for their sacrifice and service, to let a relatively small amount of people in.
Every possible reason for not allowing their entry has been used over the years by Labour AND Conservatives.
The latest one cited by Broon was that we were in recession and had no money to pay for their support while a sieve like immigration service is happy to waste money on far more undeserving cases.
I can only assume that the Gurkha issue is some old Colonial hang up in the Army?

I thought it was a magnificent performance of hers. She really hung him, and the rest of them for that matter, out to dry!
It showed him up for what he is, ie an incompetent and weak individual. How on earth did a person like that become a minister in the first place. Goes to show the sort of rubbish which are in so called control and why we are so badly governed.
I sincerely hope that they think twice about their two faced policies and allow the Gurkhas to have the status in this country that they so richly deserve.
