Where to go in Buxton??
Trying to plan a birthday outing for a mate that lives here, he doesn't really know much about the area as he is new to it.
Can anyone recommend a close by town (a cab ride) that would offer bars and maybe a club etc.
Cheers.

Come down to macc!
There are classy bars that have well dressed people and fit barstaff and plenty of 25 year old nice looking women. JarBar, Ronnies, Kusch 2.
There are scally bars that play trance that have loads of fit little 18 year old running about and v cheap drinks. Silkworm, Preachers.
And finally there is chicago rock for the desperation tactics, if you cant pull in there you may as well be gay!
Oh and Mezaluna is a nice, if expensive, bar/club but the woman that owns it is a crazy irish lesbian whos mood changes from week to week, sometimes i can get in no problem, sometimes i cant (no idea why it just depends on her mood). She hates men, really hates groups of men and can be very awkward for no reason other that men have **** on her and she now hates them all. She can often be seen walking her 3 massive alsatians around town scowling at people (and anyone whos only companions are 3 dogs, no partner or kids, at the age of about 45 is obviously mental and im guessing her previous partners have seen it and ran a mile!).
Plus me, scooby rock, and a few other scooby owners are usually out for a beer and occasionaly bump into each other!

The fuddy duddy people are probably dead now
A night out in a pub was like a funeral parlor on a busy day and a long way to get back to your bed. Make sure you have a cab number but i don't think they come out after 9pm
Don't attempt to walk home if you are prone to getting lost

living in macc i'd be inclined to get the train to manchester in the afternoon, beers and a chinese, then back to macc mid evening for a few more beers and a fight after last orders. or you could stay in manchester but the taxi fee home to buxton will leave you smarting!

My house Ha Ha! Fuddy Duddy it was now but is now full of students, the town has changed a lot recently Beltane is nice for a drink whilst you wait for a train to Manchester (every hour)
Macc is a good night out but remember if there is a bus load of drunken folk coming over the cat and fiddle it could get unpleasant.
Five ways cafe is the best greasy spoon for the hangover cure.
Have a good night

I remember a few seasons back we were playing Notts County at theirs, we were being escorted from the Navigation to the ground . I was walking on the edge of the pavement and slipped onto the road a Derbyshire police officers who was stood behind me pulled me back onto the pavement before the Notts cowboy could trample me with his horse .His words to me after were ,be careful mate these lot are a right bunch of w++kers .
PS
Didn't the Navigation get closed down not long after

ive had it rought at work, with the stress, and could do 7-7 easily and all day sat.
my boss had bone cancer in his cheekbone dont know if he will be ok or not yet,
i was my own manager, my work, the junior and alot of accts work as well. i put on a stone and a half arguing all night at home, and not sleeping,
but as luck would have it i new bloke was interviewed, who has taken over the mangers role, i dont particularly like or dislike him but will remain eternally greatful that him starting saved my marriage.
i work in the freight industry, so its gone a bit quieter, and he takes all the **** i used to deal with, so at the moment, is till go in early from time to time, but works great now.
