Question Wisdom teeth removed... advice needed

As some know I had a tooth removed where they had to grind some of my jaw bone away to remove the tooth and they also removed quite a bit of inflamed tissue with the tooth......and my head was like a melon

Anyway, I am using corsodyl mouthwash and pain killers....

I had two stitches and this is where the issue is...... I can feel a massive hole in my gum, which leads down to the jaw, and this causes quite a lot of pain when I drink anything etc.... I spoke to the oral surgery department at the hospital and the woman on the phone said that the wound heals from inside out and that I will feel a big hole in my gum for some time to come..... is this correct or was she talking nonsense.....???

Thanks

I had a hole big enough to see for about three months. Still got a dent now 6 months on.

I'd get a second opinion and probably just a check up at your dentist.

Had similar.
I had no feeling in my tongue for 3 months (dentis slipped with the drill) and all; sorts of others problems but it worked fine in the end.
No swelling though - took Arnica and it worked a treat.
