And with him passes a little piece of my childhood: Ski Sunday; I still remember some of the names of the great skiers of that period Franz Klammer, Ingemar Stenmark, Konrad Bartelski (well once anyway!), and err, a bit later Eddie "the Eagle" Edwards.
I guess Ski Sunday was just a childhood fad, like fishing, cycling, conkers and Hi-de-Hi. Shamefully, I couldn't name one of today's crop of top skiers.

Is there any actual reason for just posting news stories?
We've all got internet access after all, isn't this just clogging up the forum?
It's understandable if it is an amazing story or has some relevance. Not sure if I'm missing the point or not, but what is the point?
The other day it was Dave Dee, now David Vine. People die every day, we don't need to discuss each one do we?

What can you do though when somehow a person 'needs' to see his silly name (posted multiple times) every day on the first page of NSR

What NSR is about is discussing all and sundry - David Vine was part of my childhood, I thought it may have been part of others on here - so, worthy of discussion.
Your contribution is a negative one and adds nothing - a waste of bandwidth IMO .... but I respect your right to make a contribution, however negative - please have the decency to allow me to.

Of course, I thin its "errrrr, remarkable" you are still here, not because of your age as that is still in dispute (I reckon 55 or so), just because of your tenacity !
Can we just not let him have the PSLewis logon back, for old times sake ?

I thought he was particularly good at his job and I am sorry that he died at what is regarded as a young age now.
