Default How easy to update maps on a Tom Tom?

Ive got an older 510 Go and my brother has just bought a newer model 530/540 I think.

If I wanted to update mine to use his maps is it just simply a case of copying his memory card?

Hmmm I thought as such. Well will give it a crack anyway but not too hopeful.

Cheers

No it wont work, they are locked to your Tomtom. You can get the updated software for free by downloading tomtom home, maps have to be purchased.

Ice just upgraded my 520 to 540 software and maps I use a site called ipmart.com

Everything is on there you need for free, ya have to be ok on a computer though. Latest map is v815.2003 and software is navcore v8.320. But it's hard to get the 40 series on the 510 cos I tried on my dads.the version I just put up went on piece of cake

Hope this helps
