You don't need a licence. It's just like starting any other company. Some auctions may want to verify you where a pucka motor trader, but that would be done with a letter from you on your 'rs125 motors' headed paper.
Then all you need to do is learn the slang - Ie, it's got windows = electric windows etc etc

You need to go to Motor trader university.
There, they will teach you to.
Sell cars for stacks of profit.
Insult people who come to trade their cars in.
Cook the books.
What's more, if you go to Audi university they will teach you how to;
Sit at your desk and pretend the customer who just walked in isn't there.
Hand out a price list & brochure known in the trade as a **** off pack.
Tell customers how sought after the cars are and then refuse to give them any discount.
Have no idea about the product you are selling.
Take folks contact details whilst giving them the impression that you will call them back.
Use the phrase "They don't have that problem in Germany".

e-mail me and ill consider answering a few questions about the motor trade but really it is the same as any other business it is difficult and you have to decide what sort of trader you want to be but at the end of the day people are in the motor trade for profit and not because they like cars or people imho!

the profit is nice of course... but it's a lot easier to get up and come into work if you are a petrolhead!
i still haven't fallen out of love with cars yet after 8 years in the Motor trade.. still really enjoy the whole thing!
