Oh my god.

I've just been involved in a furious bidding war on E-Bay that has left me feeling deflated. The item in question is a CD. For two days three people including myself have been outbidding each other. I entered the fray at £18 and walked away at £75. The final bid was a whopping £86.

The CD in question was Renaissance Mix Collection (Sasha & Digweed). If anyone out there has this CD and would consider selling it then I would be interested. The copy I had was lent to a so called friend, never to be seen again.

Cheers

Hmmm...I may have it, I've certainly got something similar. Got any more details? Year of release etc? Am going to folks house later and some of my older cd's are still there..

Yep that's the one.

I think the guy selling for £150 is being a little optimistic.

Fu*k me!

I've got that in the house at the moment - I never realised it was worth anything!

I'm going to have a look on that site and see what else I've got that people will pay good money for!

Anyone want to offer me some wedge for the above?

Exclamation

I have a copy that can be sold for a reasonable sum. Email me your bid if you are interested. I can scan the cover and CD's to show the sort of condition it's in. (Perfect!!)

Renaissance is house / garage music Slider. I never bought Vol 1 of the mix series - I've got Vol 2 in the silver box though.

I think you'll find that the first one is the only one that is actually worth anything. For example the Second Renaissance album would probably go for around £20 providing it is in good condition.

Why - The originial Renaissance album (Sasha & Digweed) was the first ever album of it's type. No one had ever done a mix album before. On top of that the DJ's (Sasha & Digweed) have constantly been at the forefront of pushing new sounds. For example they were both pushing the Trance/Progressive sound back in 1994/95/96 when most people where happy just playing Garage(The real garage sound not the crap that you hear nowadays) and upfront house.
A few years later Trance was everywhere and every DJ from Dave Pearce to Steve Wright were playing it. Most clubs up and down the country had a Trance/Progressive night when a few years earlier you had to search hard to find a club playing this type of music.

Also most of the people that went to their nights at Renaissance (if you went you would know why they where so famous) are now probably in their late Twenties early Thirties and probably dont go clubbing any more, they may have made a bit of money and want an opportunity to relive their mispent youth.
